Climate change: What is my role for a positive or negative effect!

Most of our communities today are faced with reductions in crop yields and agricultural productivity with subsequent threats to the food security, loss of quantity and quality of crops, physical injuries of crops by hailstones, crop failure resulting from extreme events such as prolonged droughts and torrential rains, changes in length of growing seasons, high pest and disease risks for crops (fungal diseases), Famine and hunger and extreme occurrence of floods globally.

Communities should generate local climate change resilience and adaptation actions with a focus on both community-based adaptation (CbA) and ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) approaches to increase agriculture production through sustainable land management interventions (Climate Smart Agriculture). The strengthening of institutional, technical and community capacities in a participatory manner, with a focus on gender, are other important aspects for desired results.
