In otherwords, the student studies a lot of things which have nothing to with their future career. This academic system is the leading cause of un employment and poor quality graduates.

The high unemployment rates in Uganda are attributed to the poor education system we adopted as a country that is regarded as elitist, academic-oriented and less practical.
The education system is not skills-driven. One of the key strategies of implementing Vision 2040 should be reform of the education sector to align it with the human resource needs in the other productive sectors, and fit for the global scene.
Uganda needs to consider reforming the education system if we are to even to begin thinking of focusing on skills-development as a country.

Absolutely right. We study a lot unless topics and it leads us to no where, it would have been better to figure out the capabilities of a child at an early stage bythe time he goes for college he knows what to specialize in. Due to poor education system children finishes college in Uganda those are 6years plus 7 years of primary empty headed!! We can't do any thing on our own unless when God provided you with a talent like musicians.
