La monnaie fiduciaire et la crypto-monnaie ont une petite base commune dans le sens ou rien ne les relie à une ressource physique - mais ici s’arrête la similitude. Alors que les monnaies fiduciaires sont contrôlées par les gouvernements et les banques centrales, les crypto-monnaies sont essentiellement décentralisées, ce qui est dû en grande partie au registre numérique décentralisé appelé la Blockchain.
Une autre différence notable entre ces deux systèmes monétaires est la manière dont chacune de ces formes de monnaie est générée. Bitcoin, comme la plupart des crypto-monnaies, dispose d’un approvisionnement limité et contrôlé - contrairement à la monnaie fiduciaire que les banques peuvent tout simplement créer à partir de rien, selon leur évaluation des besoins économiques d’un pays.

Contrairement aux monnaies fiduciaires, qui dépendent d'une institution centrale, les cryptomonnaies sont décentralisées. En effet, la technologie Blockchain est par essence indépendante des gouvernements et des banques centrales.
Aussi la valeur de la crypto monnaie change constamment alors que la monnaie locale elle est fixe quelques soit les circonstances !!!
