Verb is a doing word. Most verbs end with "ed" when in past participle and past tense for example :
1. Want, wanting, wanted.
2. Love, loving, loved
• "I love you", "I am loving you" , "I loved you"
While an adverb is verb to which you can add "ly" for emphasis.
For example :

"I did it it carefully", "I did the home work completely"
Here "Complete" is a verb and "Completely" an adverb.
