It's true because brushing teeth regularly eliminates the food remains which are fermented by microbacteria and end up destroying the teeth. It also helps to eliminate some bacteria responsible for teeth decay.

also stop using anything that contains floride (that stuff is really bad for your pineal gland and your body as a whole), and stop using stuff that contains bad chemicals like sodium-laureth sulfate (SLS for short), or anything you don't know what it is... just stop using those products. Read labels of the items you buy, they put all kinds of bad stuff in toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, soap... it is crazy!
