Water helps a lot to farmers because it help to soften the land for easy cultivation. It equally serves as a source of irrigation for crop yield.

Importance of rivers to farmers in the surrounding areas include provision of water for farming and domestic use. Farmers who have access to water throughout the year can carry out their farming operations throughout the year by irrigation. This kind of surrounding is also conduisive for human settlement because of enough supply of food and water throughout the year. The river is a source of fish for the farming community. The vegetation surrounding the river is a rich source of herbs for medicine and vegetables for human consumption, and provision of papyrus vegetation for making handcrafts like mats and baskets.

Sources of water for people and their animals. They aid in rainfall formation when sunshine heats water it evaporates and condense in the sky eventually forms droplets that falls as rain.
