it is not right for pastors to go on retirement if not for any health reasons because they have taken upon themselves to serve God till they die. Going on retirement may mean it is not God’s calling work but any other job opportunity they chose

When God established the sacrificial system for the nation of Israel, He instituted finite details about how to carry it out. This included the priestly functions, and just about every minute detail you can think of. The priests were extremely careful when performing their duties. One mistake could cost them their lives, but God placed an age limit on some of those who did the priestly duties. The Book of Numbers 8:23-26 says that
“the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “This applies to the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward they shall come to do duty in the service of the tent of meeting. And from the age of fifty years they shall withdraw from the duty of the service and serve no more. They minister to their brothers in the tent of meeting by keeping guard, but they shall do no service. Thus shall you do to the Levites in assigning their duties." The priests didn’t voluntarily retire because God had commanded them to,

They should retire on the service of the church, the problem churches today have been personalised no longer for God.
But in service of church its good they retire and let the young visionary ministers continue with the work of God and may be they keep in the service of guide and mentorship

Yes, preaching should not be a permanent job, because what they preach is got from scriptures and as time goes on, one grows old and the mentality start to change and start forgetting other things.
So, retirement is really necessary because of nature. The more one grows old,the more one forgets almost everything, can even become like a baby in brain !!!

Pastoral work is a call by God. These pastors have sacrificed their desires and had succumbed to authorities of God. They lives are self denying and had promised to serve God till death. Therefore, it is not right for pastors to go on retirement if not for any health reasons because they have taken upon themselves to serve God till they die. Going on retirement may mean it is not God’s calling work but any other job opportunity they chose

How do you vote?
