This ability is a crucial element of a state's power in international relations. Any state able to direct its military forces outside its territory might be said to have some level of power projection capability, but the term itself is used most frequently in reference to militaries with a worldwide reach (or at least significantly broader than a state's immediate area). Even states with sizable hard power assets (such as a large standing army) may only be able to exert limited regional influence so long as they lack the means of effectively projecting their power on a global scale. Generally, only a select few states are able to overcome the logistical difficulties inherent in the deployment and direction of a modern, mechanized military force.
While traditional measures of power projection typically focus on hard power assets (tanks, soldiers, aircraft, naval vessels, etc.),

"Projection" refers to one side (side a) accusing the other side (side b) of doing what they (side a) are doing.

For example, the Democrats in the USA keep saying President Trump is racist without any real facts to back that statement up. Simply they repeat this lie over and over and President Trump then has to defend himself against it. Which takes the spotlight off the actual racists things said and done by democrats and democrat groups. Literally the democrat party started the KKK, and even Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton have praised KKK leaders like Margret Sanger (who was the wife of a KKK leader) and who started abortion as a method of eugenics to kill black people (which every year hundreds of thousands of black and minority babies are killed each year from abortion), and they have praised Robert Byrd who was a top guy in the KKK.

If you look back in the recent history, you can see tons of times where Donald Trump has helped minorities, Jewish people, and just random people he has met who needed a hand up. Mar-a-Lago, the golf course country club that Trump owns in Florida, was the first country club to accept minorities and Jewish people in the Palm Beach area. Donald Trump has received awards for his help for the black community and so many other examples.

Yet Joe Biden says things like "if you don't vote for him you ain't black" and tells weird stories of black kids feeling his leg hair in the pool, jumping on his lap, and cockroaches in the same breath and that is just what he has said in the last couple years, if you go back farther, since Joe Biden has been in public office for 47 years, you can see many more examples of actual racists things he has said, even in congress. Not to mention the other very disturbing things Joe Biden has done around kids and women in the 47 years he was in office.

So now you know about this political tactic known as "Projection", keep this in mind, do your own research, don't fall for projection lies.

How do you vote?
