Do you imagine different potential conversations with other people, especially when you want to say something you feel is important to that other person?

An internal monologue is also called self-talk, inner speech, inner discourse or internal discourse, is a person's inner voice which provides a running verbal monologue of thoughts while they are conscious. It is usually tied to a person's sense of self. It is particularly important in planning, problem solving, self-reflection, self-image, critical thinking, emotions, and reading in one's head. As a result, it is relevant to a number of mental disorders, such as depression, and treatments like cognitive behavioural therapy which seek to alleviate symptoms by providing strategies to regulate cognitive behaviour. It may reflect both conscious and subconscious beliefs. In some cases people may think of inner speech as coming from an external source, as with schizophrenic auditory hallucinations. Additionally, not everyone has a verbal internal monologue. Even mere looking at what some people behave shows you that some people don't have the internal speech.

inner monologues (IM) are a min of digesting happened experiences. So far so "normal". Often people end up as slaves of their IM, from Feldenkrais so called: "mind-wandering", symptom is the going on monologue = mind working => causes most of clear attention is possessed by the thoughts, as it is experianced as familiar, it might be not realized that the person is not rally awake = concious => kind of "day-dreaming". If checking accident-statistics, this must be the reason for a lot of these, nobody does want it, but "it does happen". As former teacher of the alexander-technique I was dealing with it and most of the clients increased their life-quality while awareness increased = concious, noticed what they were doing PLUS were enabled to question it, if it is what and how they really want to do what they are doing, it is at least a chance for exciting discoveries about oneselves, for me - no reason to hide it, but to accept, understand the potential in it & cultivate it

Do you have an inner monologue?

12

Do you think to yourself?
Do you think to yourself like you are talking to yourself, but it's all in your thoughts?
Do you ponder different scenarios in your mind?
Do you imagine different potential conversations with other people, especially when you want to say something you feel is important to that other person?

What do you think?

If you do not think in any of these fashions above, what is it like for you?

How do you vote?
