the horses I have seen have seemed happy being horses and were well cared for and some were friendly and of course some others did not like people too much

If you do it with care anything is possible. There are wild horses in Nevada too that are auctioned off from time to time and people have ranches where they keep them with all kinds of other animals and livestock, the horses I have seen have seemed happy being horses and were well cared for and some were friendly and of course some others did not like people too much, they all seemed to get along OK with the other horses and animals though. Everything can happen with time and care.
