Yes on the other hand I believe that is is so because all organisms have what we call a behavioral mechanism so I do support it though I have never encountered it in real.

Ostriches put their heads in the sand when they are afraid, true or false?
added by Anonymous 1100 days ago
Ostriches don't bury their heads in the sand as they wouldn't be able to breathe. But they do dig holes in the ground to use as nests for their eggs. Several times a day, a bird puts her head in the hole and turns the eggs. So it really does look like the birds are burying their heads in the sand. It's not all after the enemy but after its business and this confuses the people.

Everyone has a different way how he/ she handles the situation when afraid but for the ostriches they chose to do that may before some reasons

Ostriches are very huge and with such size, there is no hiding place(s) for it or them. They hide their heads in sand if the perceive danger. This is why when ahuman being hides half way with some part visible, the person is referred to as hiding like an Ostrich.

It's true ostriches put their heads in the sand when afraid and that is why sometimes are regarded as stupid. It is also common to other birds and sometimes are regarded as behavioural habits
