Of course you should always consider character. That is your safety net into avoiding future drama with individuals who often try to mask their character from people who practice principals of good character. You never know what you are running into. At time you may not be able to accurately assess character after some considerable amount of time.

It matters to me who my friend is and what character he exhibits. This is because if he is of a bad character, it will affect me adversely. Therefore, I would want to know a blperson before I would identify with him or her.
