With these agreements, oil companies and the government will continue to approve and award EPC prime contractors. This will enable the construction of the project to continue. According to data from the Department of Energy, during the development/construction phase, it is expected that 14,000 direct jobs will be created, contractors will create 45,000 indirect jobs, and another 105,000 will be employed due to the use of other services by the oil and gas sector: 57% Among them is expected to be Ugandans, who will generate at least 48.5 million U.S. dollars (Shs175b) in payments each year.

First of all , there's no money to fund that project unless a huge loan is acquired which is too heavy for the country. Secondly it would have provided employment opportunities when the refinery plant was established in Uganda. Thirdly that pipeline will be a deserter to environment and lastly it's gonna cause displacement of people from their lands without compensations.
