Is really Uganda independent ?

5Every 9th October Uganda celebrates it's independence as the day the British handed over and left Ugandans to take control of the contry. But is that enough to satisfy that we are independent. Since 1962 we had endless wars fighting for power up to 1986 meaning that politically we were unstable and independence had no meaning. Since 1986 to date at least there are no serious wars but the economy is going down . i cant say that we are independent when the debts are even bigger than the national budget it's self. All i have to say is we are dependants.

There's no independent country in Africa including Uganda ,there's a difference between direct rule and indirect rule. During colonial time, colonialists were ruling their colonies directly and due to African resistance, they applied indirect rules on their colonies. If we were independent, we wouldn't be using the colonial language as the official language, our constitution wouldn't be copied from the colonial country, we wouldn't be using the education system designed by the colonialists and so forth .Therefore it's a wastage of time and resources for African countries to celebrate their independence including Uganda.

Ooh my motherland!! .According to me Uganda is not independent, country where it's only the president to decide everything ! No democracy , no financial achievements, no health care , no everything but guns.

Actually sometimes we wish Uganda stayed in the rule of Britain it would have been better because these leaders of ours are also driving us back. There is no need to celebrate Independence day in Uganda .its just a wastage of time.
