How to overcome Shame

When a person does wrong he feels troubled. When the wrong is found out,he has shame. A person who thinks no one knows about his sin may not have Shame. But God knows. You should have Shame before him and see your sin as he sees it (Josh 7:20). Sin hidden in your hearts becomes a heavy burden (Ps 38:4). All joy is gone and your thoughts are worried and troubled. Fellowship with God is broken and you are afraid that others will see your sin, tell others about it, and cause you Shame. Shame can work in two ways- good and bad. Shame is good if it keeps you from doing wrong (Gen 39:10). But Shame is bad when it keeps you from confessing your wrongs to God and others (Ps 32:3,4). It can lead to pride, anger and hatred.
