It is a defeat, because their initial plan was to eliminate them from leadership, by the fact that they are back America is defeated.

As much as the taliban are a terrorist outfit, the justification to invade Afghanistan was not based on genuine facts, and had a hidden agenda, only known to the Americans. In one way or another, i wld agree that America has lost its war on terror.

The Taliban takeover in Afghanistan, does it imply America's defeat on it's war on terror?

On Sunday 15th marked the victory of Taliban terrorist group in Afghanistan after almost 20 years they lost power. After 9/11, America declared a war on terror starting in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya etc and it has taken almost 20 years in Afghanistan but the collapse of Afghanistan government without any resistance implies the wastage of on what can't be defeated.

Billions of dollars have been wasted for the period of 20 years I.e USD 837 billion on Afghanistan war, USD 145 billion to rebuild Afghanistan, USD 83 billion developing sustaining Afghanistan's Army and police forces but Taliban were victorious without any resistance from the previous government. Does it justify America and NATO defeat on their war on terror?
